3. Arrangement and order of the trials.

Arrangement and order = Eintheilung und Ordnung Bateson has “Division and Arrangement”, Sherwood “Arrangement and Sequence”. Eintheilung means arrangement in the sense of allocation, apportionment, disposition or division, whereas Ordnung probably refers to the temporal sequence of experiments.
